Each year, exciting events are happening at the Averasboro Battlefield and Museum. Although specific events and times differ from year to year, here are some of the wonderful and informative events we have hosted recently. Be sure to check on this website from time to time for exact events, dates, and features.
Living History
Periodically, the Averasboro Battlefield is the site of a Living History Event. This all day event presents Living Historians, Reenactors, Displays, Presentations and Demonstrations. In addition to historical themes, the event has provided other fun and interesting things to do for the entire family, such as a Ghost Walk Tour for several years and Horse and Pony Rides. As experience is gained hosting the Living History event, the Averasboro Battlefield Commission trys to make each progressive one bigger and better than the last, with different activties added each time.
Averasboro Fiber Festival
A relatively new event is the Fiber Festival held in the spring of the year. You can see spinning, weaving, knitting, sheep shearing, working sheep dogs, and more at this very popular event.
Battle Reenactment
Periodicially, every few years, Averasboro will be the site of a large reenactment of the March 1865 battle. Reenactors from all over come together to present the Averasboro story through infantry, artillery, and cavalry tactics and demonstrations.
Field Trips and Tours
Averasboro Battlefield and Museum welcomes your group or school for a field trip of pre-arranged tour. Contact the Battlefield office for information and arrangements.
Golf Benefit
Periodically, the Averasboro Battlefield Commission and Museum will sponsor a golf benefit. Proceeds go to ABCI for the continued preservation and presentation of Averasboro Battlefield and Museum.

Yard Sale
A very popular event is the Averasboro Yard Sale. This event is usually held mid-summer and proceeds go to the furtherance of the ABCI preservation efforts for Averasboro Battlefield and Museum. Contributors and shoppers are extremely welcome.
